International Certificate for Motor Vehicles

Best described as a vehicle passport, the International Certificate for Motor Vehicles (ICMV) is provided by the AA or the RAC for a cost of £4. The ICMV is valid for one year and provides the registration document information in a slightly different format. and in a range of languages and scripts.

International Driving Licence

The International Driving Licence is provided by the AA or the RAC, is valid for one year and costs £4. It contains all the information from the British driving licence in an internationally recognised and multi-lingual format. As it includes a photograph it is also useful form of identification. Ours were rarely checked as in many cases our British driving licences were sufficient; however it is still worth having one and in many countries it is a legal requirement.
